SM

we had an early taste of summer in march but now things are back to gray and cool and rainy. every day something new is emerging. i do like this time of year.

without further adieu, i offer you my spring manifesto for 2012.

this spring i will take advantage of my neighbor’s offer to play tennis on her clay court.

i will venture out to yard sales in hopes of securing the following things: a vintage tennis racket (see above), a telescope for spring stargazing, a madeleine pan, some classic novels and a waffle iron. i will enjoy the hunt.

i will work on a recipe for sweet potato muffins with maple lemon butter and share them with my friends.

i will throw an ice cream party and serve spring sundaes a la jeni britton-bauer.  hello strawberries. i will invite friends from near and far and we will have our sundaes al fresco and hopefully on the floating dock.

this spring, i will finally get up the nerve to take my first sewing class at the co-op. i will practice my skills in the evening in lieu of my usual computer time.

this spring i will watch the following films: being flynn (T and i loved the book that this movie is based on); we need to talk about kevin; norwegian wood and jiro dreams of sushi.

i will travel this spring. i will travel to massachusetts to eat at our friend’s restaurant in cambridge and to nyc to see francesca woodman’s photos with friends and family.

it will be the spring of sticky buns and cross stitch and greenhouse visits, the spring of walking dirt roads in search of the spring ephemerals, the spring i finally take my camera in for the work it needs.

a productive spring, an abundant spring. a celebration of the new life all around.

this is my spring manifesto.

cheers friends!

Such beautiful photos, and wonderful intentions. Being an ice cream addict, I especially love the spring sundaes idea :)
